This has been a huge week for “Hi”! We drove from Omaha, Nebraska down to Beloit, Kansas to be there as my sister gave birth to a gorgeous baby boy, Breckin Lee. This is the story of that day (in portrait photography form).
Newborn portrait photography is always an honor…
But it’s an even more significant when you’re actually there for the delivery, and when the child being born is a newphew.
I was honored to be present for the majority of the 25-hour delivery, hold her hand, fetch her ice chips, snap some photographs (of course) and support her & her wonderful boyfriend, Aaron. And we wanted to share the experience with you.
One of Morgan’s wonderful nurses, Carol. She was so caring and soothing – I’m so thankful she was there for my sister.
Although she may not remember, the nurse in the green scrubs was actually in the room when Morgan was born – it’s amazing how generations connect in Beloit.
Aaron was awesome – he was there the whole time (leaving only once to let their little pup out and quickly return). I’m so happy that Morgan had someone so loving to be there and take care of her.
After only 15 minutes in surgery, Baby Breckin Lee was born. At the Mitchell County Hospital, they play the happy birthday song and a few lullabies over the loudspeakers to announce that a baby has been born.
After Mama & her boy Aaron, I was the first to get to hold Breckin. Needless to say I was a very teary, very loving and happy Auntie.
Our proud Mama.
Great-grandma celebrating that we finally have another redhead in the family.
It was very special for me that one of our first experiences shooting newborn photography was with my own nephew. Congratulations to my beautiful sister and her gorgeous new boy!!!
